Remo Frit

Where beauty meets purpose — this is the guiding principle at GDesign Architects. One project that perfectly embodies this philosophy is the expansion of Remo Frit, the renowned producer of fresh fries. In 2016, the client came to us with their challenge — the perfect opportunity to design a smart production flow and a pleasant working environment. The result speaks for itself.

An expansion with an eye for detail

Traditionally known for its fresh fries for chip shops and events, Remo Frit had outgrown its existing facility due to increasing demand. Expansion was the only way forward. Together with GDesign Architects, the client set out to bring that vision to life.

Said and done — though it took over a year to finalise the optimal building plans. Before design work even began, we conducted in-depth analyses of the existing production flows and, together with the client, mapped out the projected impact of growth. While our design was in development, machine builders were also working on-site. We coordinated frequently to avoid any conflicts, and adjusted our plans wherever needed.

Aesthetics meets functionality

The new Remo Frit building is defined by bold contrasts: sharp black and white zones indicate distinct functions. Social areas and meeting points for staff, clients and suppliers are highlighted in white. Functional elements such as truck reception and dispatch are rendered in black. This choice is both visual and strategic — facilitating intuitive, non-verbal communication across the site.

25,000m² of efficiency

With a total surface area of 25,000m², the new Remo Frit facility is a prime example of how architectural design can enhance production efficiency. This was not only a spatial expansion, but also a leap forward in how the company operates — from manufacturing to delivery.
